GUERRILLA TREE PLANTING PROJECT
The time has come to take seed and plant our green future. Resist the tide of concrete. The chew of bloody metal. The burn of Electric Light.
Take up seeds and cradle in your tender palm. head out under a dark sky and skulk through the shadows. Find bare earth and Plant.
Plant and watch your seeds grow, To stretch frail towards a new dawn. weave a war of roots around civilisation's cracking foundations.
This is your guerrilla tree planting project.
Acquire your tree seeds, if you haven't already. Low maintenance native trees are best (no invasive species!). wash/dry them off and place in the fridge for at least 3 days if you wish to grow at home in pots, before planting out in the spring season. If you wish to just plant the seeds, skip to step 2.
Search for a good spot to plant your Seedling/Seeds. Think neglected patches of earth in your town or city, as well as parks. If out in the country, forestry areas that have been recently felled are great, or disused fields with some hedgerow to protect the seedlings when they sprout.
Plant your seedling/seeds. If seeds, plant out in October or November to ensure the seed germinates. For seedlings, spring is best. Head out under at night to avoid detection. Planting on slopes helps avoid frost, and skip areas that can become waterlogged. AFter a rainstorm is a good time to plant. Use your head. keep an eye on the growth.
